Borovets (Bulgarian: Боровец) is a popular Bulgarian mountain resort situated in Sofia Province, on the northern slopes of Rila, at an altitude of 1350 m.Borovets is 10 km from Samokov, 73 km from Sofia and 125 km from Plovdiv.
Borovets is also the oldest Bulgarian winter resort with a history that dates back to 1896.
Borovets is one of Bulgaria’s most important ski resorts. The Hotel Rila has a prime position in Borovets, right at the foot of the nursery slopes and opposite the chairlift – so you can virtually ski back to the doorstep. That also means it’s centrally-located for all the resort’s restaurants, bars and shops.
At just 70 km from Sofia International Airport (50 min. by car) the Rila Hotel is situated on the highest mountain in Bulgaria – Rila (2925 m.)

The hotel also offers a transfer service at very good rates, which can be booked separately by groups of participants arriving together. Organizing your transfer
By Bus
Every 30 minutes, a bus departs South Bus Station (Avtogara Yug) to Samokov Bus Station (duration 1 hour). A shuttle service to Borovets is available from there, every 30 minutes. In Borovets, the shuttle stops in front of Hotel Samokov. On the way back to Samokov Bus Station, the shuttle leaves from the Hotel Ela in Borovets.
