Position Summary
The Proofreader for District 109 Toastmasters is responsible for reviewing and correcting written content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency. This role involves close collaboration with the Core Team and content contributors to ensure all district communications meet the highest standards. The Proofreader plays a vital role in maintaining the professionalism and quality of district publications and communications.

Key Responsibilities
- Content Review and Correction:
- Proofread articles, announcements, and other written submissions for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and typographical errors.
- Ensure consistency in tone, style, and format across all district publications.
- Verify facts, dates, and statistics to ensure accuracy in all content.
- Team Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with the Core Team to understand the goals and guidelines of publications.
- Provide constructive feedback to writers and editors to help improve the quality of submissions.
- Assist in maintaining an organized workflow for content review and publication.
- Communicate effectively with content contributors to clarify any ambiguities or discrepancies.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure that all district communications adhere to Toastmasters International brand guidelines and standards (Brand Portal).
- Maintain a checklist of common errors and best practices to streamline the proofreading
process.
Qualifications
- Excellent command of the English language, with strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Canva and WordPress
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Note
Please note that current district officers are not eligible for this position. We prefer to give this opportunity for a member who is not currently serving as a district officer to help them grow by working closely with the core team.
